Bio
Nicola specialises in the oboe. She began her musical study in the UK, at Wells Cathedral School, a prestigious music specialist school, and at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She then moved to New Zealand to study for her Masters in performance at Auckland University. As an oboist she has built up an impressive CV of freelance work, including touring Japan with Christchurch Symphony orchestra in 2011 and playing for Disney and Cameron Mackingtosh’s Mary Poppins. Nicola believes her practical experience, along with her passion, positivity, energy and emphathy make her a successful teacher. She takes great pleasure in working with students towards achieving their musical goals. She enjoys teaching all ages and levels, and most importantly, making music fun.
