Teaching Info
I welcome all students who are passionate about music and piano, as well as those preparing for exams like ABRSM or Trinity. I have successfully guided students in China to pass CMA grade 10 exams and above, and I am currently teaching students preparing for ABRSM exams. Additionally, I can teach music theory if the student is interested. My lessons can be conducted in both Chinese and English.
My goal in teaching music is to enable students to learn independently in the future. To achieve this, I focus on building a solid foundation and teaching effective learning methods. Influenced by my teachers, including Professor Yifu Yang’s “Sound Concept Teaching Method” and FRCM Professor Gordon Fergus-Thompson’s emphasis on finding one’s own interpretation, I guide students in listening and discovering their unique playing style. Furthermore, inspired by Professor Andrew Zolinsky and Dr. Fabio Morreale’s spirit of exploration and innovation, I encourage students to try modern pieces and, depending on their strengths, connect with certain living composers.
