About me
I began my singing journey at 17, during my final year of high school. My voice felt trapped, and I longed for the freedom to express myself fully. This led me on a journey to reconnect with my voice, exploring both technical training and somatic practices – learning to allow sounds to flow naturally from my body.
I studied physiology and psychology at the University of Auckland, where I deepened my understanding of how the mind and body function both independently and together. This knowledge has shaped my belief that voice and sound are powerful tools for expression and connection.
I’m committed to refining my craft, with recent performances including Kinky Boots in Christchurch as the understudy for Lola/Simon, Grease as Danny Zuko (2023), Fiyero alternate in Wicked (2023), and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (2022). My coaches include: Charlotte West, Cherie Moore, Angela Johnson, and Jon Hunter.
With the experience and skills I’ve gained, I’m passionate about helping others evolve their performances and find their own authentic voices. Let’s take your performance to the next level!
Where are the lessons?
Lessons are held at Symphonia Music School in Freeman’s Bay, online, and I also offer at-home lessons for added convenience, with a small travel fee.
Teaching Info
In my lessons, you can expect a supportive, personalised approach to help you unlock your full vocal potential. My teaching combines technical training with body awareness, so your voice flows naturally and powerfully. We’ll focus on building strong vocal technique – breath control, pitch, range, and tone – while also connecting emotionally with your material.
Each session is tailored to your goals, whether you’re preparing for a performance, expanding your range, or boosting confidence. You’ll work through vocal exercises, song interpretation, and performance techniques to express yourself authentically.
Bring a song you’re working on, or we can explore new material together. My goal is to find what fits your voice and helps you feel confident on stage.
We can also arrange performance opportunities at the Symphonia Music School, where you’ll have the chance to practice performing in front of an audience.
