Bio

Experienced music teacher, Sophie Foster, studied violin, viola, piano and music theory at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Royal College of Music, Dublin and gained her LTCL. She completed postgraduate studies in viola performance and Suzuki violin pedagogy at Ithaca College, New York. She studied under the late Dr. Suzuki  in the USA, Ireland and France, and was instrumental in organizing his only visit to New Zealand. She is also the founding director of Jumping Beans, a motor-skill and movement-to-music programme www.jumpingbeans.co.nz and musical director of a TVNZ/Village Roadshow children’s music video, Singalong with Beanie.
