Bio

I am a New Zealander, educated at Morrinsville Primary, Morrinsville College, Ardmore Teachers College, and Canterbury University.

I have taught as a classroom teacher specialising in music for many years, and as an itinerant music teacher for several years, and have taught privately for all my adult life.

I have also conducted student orchestras, wind ensembles and choirs.

Teaching Info

In my teaching I enjoy the challenge of fitting the tuition to the student’s level of abilities, learning modes, and musical interests.

I prepare students for exams only if they wish to travel that path.

I believe all lessons should be enjoyable, and should be focussed on the student gaining insights and skills that make playing music successful

I have instruments available for hire for beginners on violin.
