Bio

I recently finished my Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours (Jazz Performance) from Victoria University in 2022. Before that, I spent 5 years as a full-time musician with the New Zealand Army Band. I am currently an Artist Teacher at the New Zealand School of Music Victoria University, I also teach at St Mark’s School and privately. I am an active freelance musician in Wellington, playing lead trumpet in the Rodger Fox Big Band and Callum Allardice’s Cinematic Light Orchestra, and also playing in the Richter City Rebels and the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band.

Teaching Info

I have a Great love for the trumpet that has been built over the last 20+ years playing the instrument. In my teaching, I first like to help students foster a love for music and then teach them essential skills (e.g. reading, learning by ear, technique) through music in which the students are interested.
