Bio
About me
As a Filipino, I started singing, and was surrounded by music, from a very young age. I grew up singing in both school and community choirs, musical theatre productions, as well as my family’s living room.
In 2017 I sustained a vocal injury, which was dismal at the time, but is now an experience that has taught me how to properly use and care for my voice.
My coaching style focuses on teaching sustainable, healthy singing techniques, and helping singers find and love their individual voice. My own teachers over the years have included Kelly Harris, Leza Corban, Cherie Moore, and Charlotte West.
About my business
I offer private lessons via house calls (I come to your place and hold the lesson there). Suburbs listed are just where I currently have students. I am open to seeing students within Central/West Auckland.
I also offer vocal coaching for groups, such as ensembles in a musical production, starting at $45 per hour.
As well as vocal coaching I am also a freelance actor, director, stage manager, and illustrator. While I endeavour to keep lessons as regular as possible, the nature of my career is ever-changing, so I appreciate flexibility around scheduling.
Teaching Info
I believe that singing, and music in general, is best learnt when one enjoys it. You can come to me with any material you want to learn. Past students have worked on songs ranging from Billy Joel’s “Vienna” to “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid”.
I can also assist with:
- Building a repertoire (singing portfolio)
- Audition preparation
- Maintaining a vocal health routine
- Coming back to singing after a break!
