Bio
I brought my first guitar when I was 15 from my best friend Pete and was lucky enough to be taught by him too. At 17 I enrolled in the school of Performing Arts and Music and after two years walked out with a mission to form the greatest metal band ever known!
I spent my early 20’s writing and performing music in the local scene in Christchurch and touring throughout NZ. During these years I produced two albums with the band Jubaal – All Myths Aside and Lullaby. In 2007 I hung up my guitar and decided to start a career outside of music.
Though not actively playing live music during this time – my companion and loyal guitar was never far from my side. As the years went by, I always had a desire to return to the wonderful world of creativity but this time to share my knowledge and experience with others. Teaching students and seeing their development and discovery each week is very rewarding for me and reaffirms my place in this world!
Teaching Info
I provide structured and progressive music sessions. You will walk away each week with printed & digital learning resources (the fun kind) that will enable you to learn, understand and progress at a steady pace.
I will teach you music theory and how it relates to the guitar, it’s like learning a new language. I provide a dedicated music studio space that will make you feel at home. Parents can grab a seat in a relaxing outdoor/indoor set up (and enjoy a cold/hot drink) while they wait for the lesson to end.
Luke has been tutoring our sons for about 4 months. He's very good teacher. They were playing "smoke on the water" after the 3rd lesson!
