Bio
Emily is a Christchurch based musician who works around the country as a full time bassist, performer and tutor. She completed her Bachelor of Music Arts at Ara Institute of Canterbury’s Music Arts Programme; Jazz School in 2018.
She has a real passion for the electric bass and has ten years of playing under her belt. Joe Dart, Victor Wooten, Kinga Glyk, James Jamerson and Jaco Pastorius are just a few of her inspirations.
Touring with original artist PRINS in 2023 & 2024, touring the world in places such as the Philippines, Spain and London. Including popular European festivals like ‘Primavera Sound’ and ‘Castaway’.
Emily made her debut theatre performance in The Court Theatres 2019 show ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’. And in recent years, band for the Isaac Theatre Royals show ‘Cinderella’ & ‘Beauty & The Beast’ with GMG productions. And 2024 ‘Showbiz’ show Mama Mia.

Excellent bass teacher! I am having a ton of fun learning all sorts of intermediate and advanced techniques from Emily. She is a well-rounded musician, and can play pretty much any style or genre. She is also a very organized teacher, and sends me notes after each lesson. I highly recommend!
