Bio
Emma Colligan is a violinist currently based in Wellington, New Zealand where she currently has a studio of over 50 young Violin students from age 3-45. Lessons are held in her studio located near Khandallah. Emma plays for Orchestra Wellington, and has also played with the Christchurch Symphony, the Southern Sinfonia, the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, and the Charleston Symphony in South Carolina USA. She studied in the United States and received her Masters in Violin Performance with emphasis in String Pedagogy from the Longy Conservatory of Music located in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied under famed violinist and pedagogue Mark Lakirovich, and served as his teaching associate. Emma received her Bachelors of Music with Honours from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She was the recipient of several awards, including The Aotea Performing Arts scholarship, The New Zealand Post Young Musicians Award, and a Young Performers Scholarship from The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.
