Bio
Thank you for your interest in my bio! I’ve been immersed in music from a young age, and for over 20 years, I’ve worked as a professional musician performing and teaching students of all ages, from young children to seniors. My experience covers a broad range of genres, including Brazilian music, jazz, and contemporary styles, with a special focus on Bossa Nova, Samba, and jazz improvisation.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of Auckland and a music degree from Universidade Livre Tom Jobim in Brazil. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of studying with renowned musicians like Wynton Marsalis and Moacir Santos, and I’ve performed at festivals such as the Waiheke Jazz Festival, Mangawhai Soul Jazz Festival, Auckland Live, Jazz on Vulcan Lane, and many others in Brazil.
As a teacher, I tailor each lesson to the individual needs of my students, making music both enjoyable and accessible for beginners, while providing advanced players with opportunities to refine their technical and artistic abilities. My teaching emphasises building strong foundations in rhythm, interpretation, and technique, drawing on my experience in both improvised and written music.
