Bio

Mike is a graduate of Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Music including performance cello. He is also a Licentiate of Trinity College of Music, London. A former member of The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, a founding member of the versatile band Barock and cellist of the Garden City String Quartet, Mike also has more than twenty five years of experience teaching bowed strings, piano and guitar in Christchurch primary, intermediate and secondary schools and private music studio.

Teaching Info

Lessons are tailored to individual needs and abilities, either on a ‘just for fun’ basis or for more serious musical study, including entry for ABRSM exams. Students can expect a fun but systematic approach to learning, using tried and tested methods and materials.
