Bio
Hi, my name is Tim Driver, and I am currently based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am a musician by trade, specialising in performance, composition, arranging and tuition. I play piano/keyboards, with some experience in vocals, and currently working as a professional musician and piano teacher. In addition to standard one-on-one lessons, I have also previously taught in schools, and as an online keyboard tutor.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of working as a musician at a local, national and international level. I am currently performing as a founding member of the band Dillastrate, as well as playing as a session musician/collaborator with Sacha Vee and Oval Office. I consider myself to have a broad range of abilities musically as I have exposed myself to many different styles, genres and attitudes towards music, ranging from jazz to rock, funk/soul to hip-hop, electronica to folk.
Teaching Info
I have a casual yet informative approach to tuition, and I try to instill a sense of passion and understanding in my students. Nothing is more satisfying to me than assisting my students in understanding the mechanisms and concepts of music, and to see them achieve their musical goals. Therefore, my teaching style is one of patience, dedication and, above all, enthusiasm, as my main goal is to foster the understanding of my students – without being unnecessarily harsh!
I am also fully set-up to deliver online music lessons.
